Nurses in Peterborough held a rally Monday protesting the province’s Bill 124.
A small group gathered outside MPP Dave Smith’s constituency office to protest the bill which the province introduced in November 2019. The bill limits the wage increases of all public sector workers to one per cent in each of the next three years.
In March, a coalition of Ontario unions, coordinated by the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL), and representing approximately 270,000 employees and over 40 unions, filed a constitutional challenge to Bill 124, arguing that it violates collective bargaining rights.
