Coronavirus outbreak: Tam says Spartan rapid test for COVID-19 ‘didn’t perform well’ in clinical setting

Canada’s chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam said Sunday the rapid test developed by Ottawa-based biotech company Spartan Bioscience for COVID-19 “did not perform well” in a clinical setting, despite earlier results which appeared promising, adding the failures were believed to be related to the test’s proprietary swab.
