A black bear roaming the Town of Port Hope over the past few days was spotted on Tuesday night destroying a bird feeder.
The animal targeted the feeder on a property on Silver Crescent just off Victoria Street North in the town’s northwest end around 9:45 p.m.
The bear spent about 30 minutes tearing apart the bird feeder to access the seed.
The animal also knocked over a garbage can on the road.
Port Hope Police Service is advising residents to remove bird feeders from the area on the advice of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
No word yet if the animal has been located by MNRF officials.
