Canada’s chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam said Wednesday that the increase in the overall percentage of people testing positive for COVID-19 in Canada, now at six per cent, is within the global range of three to 12 per cent of people worldwide who test positive. Tam said Canada’s per cent is a combination of how provinces are targeting testing priority groups, as well as having a sensitive testing system so even people with milder symptoms are still getting tested.
