Agriculture and Forestry Minister Devin Dreeshen said a temporary fire ban will go into effect Wednesday in the forest protection area — about 60 per cent of the province along the western edge and northern half of Alberta —as well as announced more wildfire firefighter jobs and stiffer penalties to anyone who is caught setting fires.
