Before beginning the United Kingdom’s daily COVID-19 update on Sunday, U.K. health minister Matt Hancock said it was “great news” that Prime Minister Boris Johnson was discharged from a London hospital after being admitted last week for persistent COVID-19 symptoms. He added that Johnson’s thoughts are with those affected, and that he is thankful for both those who supported his recovery and the National Health Service (NHS) staff who cared for him.
