New York governor Andrew Cuomo said on Wednesday that the state has lost more people to COVID-19 than it lost during 9/11 World Trade Center attacks. New York has a death toll of 6,268 due to the novel coronavirus while 9/11 caused 2,753 deaths among New Yorkers. Governor Cuomo has directed flags to be flown at half-mast in honor of those New York has lost to COVID-19.
