World Health Organization director-general Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Friday that the first patients would be enrolled in the “solidarity” drug trial to compare the safety effectiveness of four drugs and drug combinations against COVID-19. He said the trial would “dramatically cut” the time to generate evidence about what drugs work. Ghebreyesus added people should not use drugs not tested as they risk harmful results.
