Speaking to reporters on Monday, Dr. Michael Ryan, the Executive Director of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme, told reporters that the organization was entering “uncharted territory” when it came to containing the global spread of COVID-19, but added he and the organization are hopeful the virus’ spread can still be contained.
