Speaking to reporters in the House of Commons, the leader of the official opposition Andrew Scheer said it’s a devastating day for hundreds of thousands of people who lost their jobs in the energy sector.
Scheer blamed the Liberal government and the “weak leadership” of Justin Trudeau for the cancellation of the Teck Frontier mine project and said this sends a very strong signal to proponents in the energy sector that this government will not uphold the rule of law and they will be on their own.
