Italy cancelled the last two days of Carnival as the country has struggled to contain a sharp rise in COVID-19 infections across the north of the country that jumped to over 200 since Friday. This year’s Venice carnival saw revellers wearing extra masks one to celebrate and another to protect against the coronavirus.
