China’s ambassador to the U.K., Liu Xiaoming, said on Thursday that while there is understandable concern over the coronavirus outbreak, some countries have had “over-reactions” with panic being seen among the public and “insulting and discriminatory remarks” targeting the overseas Chinese community. He also said that advice by U.K. officials to leave China over the illness was “not helpful.”
