Fire damages backyard shed at Peterborough home

Damage is pegged at $5,000 after a fire broke out at a backyard shed at a Dublin Street home in Peterborough on Sunday night.

Around 8 p.m. firefighters responded to a reported structure fire and discovered smoke and flames coming from the rear of the unattached shed in a backyard.

Crews quickly extinguished the blaze. The fire was contained to the back corner of the shed, Peterborough Fire Services said.
A wood stove was blamed for the fire.
