Newfoundland buried in snow as state of emergency declared in St. John’s

Newfoundland’s capital shut down on Friday and the city declared a state of emergency, with nearby towns following suit as an intense winter storm dumped more than 30 centimeters snow on St. John’s and surrounding areas.
