Authorities in British Columbia braced for blizzard conditions on Jan. 14, with accumulations of up to a half-meter of snow predicted for the following day in parts of Vancouver Island, reports said. Additionally, on the banks of Okanagan Lake, a sailboat was seen with ice around its hull and pancake ice on the lake’s surface.
