Toronto library criticized over refusal to cancel event by controversial speaker

The Toronto Public Library is holding firm, saying it will not cancel a planned event for later this month that features Meghan Murphy, a Vancouver-based speaker who has made controversial statements around transgender legislation. As Morganne Campbell reports, a group of well-known authors are boycotting the library, claiming that Murphy’s views are considered hateful towards the LGBTQ2 community.
