A fourth whale was found beached in Lima, Peru’s San Bartolo on Aug. 20. According to local reports, witnesses believed that the baby whale, estimated to be at least three years old, showed signs of suffering an injury after blood was spotted in the water. Despite best efforts, Peruvian authorities along with veterinarians, were forced to euthanize the young sperm whale due to its injuries.
