Exploring the relics of D-Day along Juno Beach

This week marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day, when Allied troops, including 14,000 Canadian soldiers, launched a major invasion of Nazi-occupied France. Many of the communities that were liberated still hold remnants from that battle, which marked the beginning of the end of the Second World War. As Jeff Semple explains, their war wounds have become unofficial monuments to the soldiers’ sacrifice.
