With many West Island flood operations winding down, the need for volunteers has also diminished. With more and more displaced residents returning home, this means the volunteers who have worked tirelessly to help can also get back to their regular lives. As Global’s Phil Carpenter explains, the volunteer operation that has been running out of the Pointe-Claire Holiday Inn for the last several weeks is closing up shop.
