Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Ralph Goodale said during a technical briefing on flood relief across Canada that he was “surprised” that the Disaster Mitigation Fund implemented five years ago hasn’t been used to do more flood mapping to prepare provinces on the future patterns of precipitation in certain areas.
