Looters broke into a Paris newsagents during protests on Saturday to steal cartons of cigarettes, a local resident said. Video posted to the internet showed a group of people, some wearing the yellow vests synonymous with a series of demonstrations in the city, reaching under the iron shutters of the shop on Rue La Boetie to remove items. Thomas Loiseaux, who uploaded the video, told Reuters he lived nearby and had earlier seen people trying to steal items from a Starbucks cafe.
