Butte County , California, Sheriff’s Deputy Aaron Parmley thought he was going to die on November 8, so he turned on his bodycam to capture what he assumed would be the last moments of his life. Parmley, who survived, was on Pentz Road in Paradise that day, trying to rescue nurses from the Camp Fire inferno. Parmley’s patrol car broke down, so he set out on foot. This video, released by the sheriff’s department on November 29, shows his journey.
