Summer surf-guards axed in Canada’s surfing mecca
Description
May 22, 2018
Tofino is known as a top surfing destination -- drawing surfers from all over the world in search of perfect cold-water waves. Until 2012, surf-guards have been watching over them. And in such a high-risk environment, many lives have been saved over the years. But as Jas Johal reports, federal government cuts mean that safety net is disappearing. **Original airdate: June 2012**
