It's not just small business owners who are worried about the impact of boosting the minimum wage in Ontario to $15.00 an hour. Fire departments in rural areas fear their costs could soar as well. The government's planned labour law reforms would force municipalities to pay volunteers to be "on-call" 24 hours a day. That provision could force some volunteer fire departments to fold.
