‘A very unfortunate place’: Scott Moe reacts to imposition of 50 per cent U.S. tariffs
Description
August 24, 2026
Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe calls the imposition of 50 per cent U.S. tariffs on all Canadian goods, and the seeming resumption of the U.S. - Canada trade war, a "very unfortunate place." Speaking to reporters this weekend, Moe added he supported Prime Minister Mark Carney in his plan to impose "dollar-for-dollar" counter-tariffs on American imports. "We're going to have some bumpy days and weeks," Saskatchewan's Premier admitted, but said it was worth it in his view to achieve "trade certainty." Payton Zillich reports.
