Quebec court backlog may cause dismissal in Lac-Mégantic trial

Quebec’s justice system is facing a crisis because of lengthy and unacceptable delays for criminal trials. Because of the Supreme Court decision requiring Superior Court trials be completed in 30 months, many lawyers are asking for stays of proceedings because of unfair delays.
