Cultural Tourism has become a multi-billion dollar industry in Canada. The West Kelowna Art council is tapping into the market

Don’t be surprised if you see native art for sale when you pass through the Kelowna airport. The West Kelowna Art Council has joined forces with the Westbank First Nation and city of West Kelowna to promote local art. Julia
Trops is with the council and she says “We are really focused on bringing our cultural communities together. We love art and we felt there was a need in the community for this sort of project”. This fall the group decided to open up a store front to encourage local artists to bring in their first works
They also have a kiosk called “Spirit of the Okanagan” at the Kelowna International Airport
