Penticton residents rally against mayor and council

A protest over commercial development at Skaha Lake Park has turned into a call for Penticton’s mayor and council to step down. A new group called Penticton Citizens First has formed alongside the Save Skaha Parks group following a year of protests, petitions and rallys. They are opposed to council’s deal with a developer to use city park space for commercial purposes. A private court action continues as well. A rally near city hall took place Tuesday afternoon.
