Stand up paddle board yoga near Saskatoon
Description
July 9, 2014
Watch the video above: Paddle board yoga
SASKATOON – Summer is in full swing and along with it is a rewarding way to practice yoga on water.
Because of the extra attention required to maintain balance, stand up paddling (SUP) yoga activates every muscle in the body, guaranteeing a full body workout.
SUP Saskatoon teaches paddleboard yoga at Pike Lake Provincial Park.
The organization has a huge fleet of paddleboards along with canoes and kayaks, plus numerous instructors, all dedicated to providing the ultimate yoga experience with a twist.
Global News tried it out on Tuesday and it was Melissa’s first time paddle boarding and she absolutely loved how relaxing it was.

BLOG:

I had a bit of trouble at first trying to get used to the way I need to distribute my weight but once I got the hang of it I was loving it.
To incorporate yoga practice and paddling takes yoga to a new level.
A large amount of stability is involved along with core strength to keep yourself level. I would hands down do it again.
Hopefully if I try it again I can give the headstand a try!
Golden Yoga &Wellness features Paddle Canada SUP certified instructors.
Classes range from $30 to $50 and are designed to be safe and accessible to all.
