Montreal-area police forces build common front to target extortion
Description
April 30, 2026
New efforts are being deployed by several Montreal-area police departments to crack down on organized crime. Four police forces are teaming up to stop business owners from becoming victims of extorsion. The departments are targeting people who threaten and intimidate merchants to pay for protection. As Tim Sargeant reports, it's a growing problem, especially in the bar and restaurant industry.
