Feds say struggling universities must ask provinces for help
Description
February 3, 2026
As colleges and universities across the country continue to struggle with the federal government's cap on international students, there's little chance Ottawa will reverse course. The federal immigration minister says post-secondary institutions struggling to balance the books will have to turn to their provincial governments for financial help. BC's Minister of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills Jessie Sunner speaks with Global News Morning about the state of post-secondary education in B.C.
