Former Bangladesh PM gets death sentence for deadly student protest crackdown

Sheikh Hasina, the former prime minister of Bangladesh, was
handed a death sentence by a Dhaka court on Friday for alleged crimes against humanity Hasina was found guilty of ordering a crackdown which resulted in the deaths of 1,400 people in student-let protests in August 2024.
