Nearly 100 years after the government believed documents called Metis scrip had been fully redeemed, Indigenous leaders and scholars are remembering the system as a tool to steal land from their communities. Matthew Merkel shares how a promise to provide 1.4 million acres to Metis was never fulfilled.
