A new report reveals Ajax homeowners saw one of the steepest home insurance premium hikes in Ontario. The analysis done by MyChoice, a company that compares home insurance quotes across various providers, found premiums spiked 22.11 per cent in Ajax in 2025, roughly three times the average rate in Ontario. To arrive at the data, thousands of quotes generated on MyChoice were examined and compared to the same period in 2024, focusing on a standard homeowner profile.
