At a press conference on Monday, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe says his trade mission to China, Japan and South Korea was focused on reopening markets for prairie agriculture. Moe described meetings with Chinese officials as more positive than expected, with signals that both sides want to “recalibrate” the trade relationship. He emphasized that only Prime Minister Mark Carney can finalize a deal with China, but called the trip an important step forward.

At a press conference on Monday, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe says his trade mission to China, Japan and South Korea was focused on reopening markets for prairie agriculture. Moe described meetings with Chinese officials as more positive than expected, with signals that both sides want to “recalibrate” the trade relationship. He emphasized that only Prime Minister Mark Carney can finalize a deal with China, but called the trip an important step forward.
