Trump fires U.S. Labor Statistics head after weak July jobs report: ‘I think the numbers were wrong’
Description
August 2, 2025
U.S. President Donald Trump has fired a top Labor Department official after a report showed weak numbers for hiring in July – with even lower numbers for the U.S. job market in May and June than previously reported. Taking to social media Friday, Trump accused Erika McEntarfer of manipulating the numbers, despite having no evidence to back that claim.
