Federal Health Minister Marjorie Michel addressed concerns about the government's challenges with the Vaccine Injury Support Program (VISP) after a Global News investigation revealed significant failures in payouts by the private company Oxaro, hired to manage the program. Michel stated the government will “try” to improve how VISP provides services and financial assistance to vulnerable and unwell Canadians.
