Speaking with Reuters in Singapore Sunday, Canada’s Chief of Defence Staff Jennie Carignan confirmed potential plans for Canada to join U.S. President Donald Trump’s upcoming “Golden Dome” missile defence system will be “up for discussion and development over the next few months.” Carignan also noted the Canadian Armed Forces’ recent spike in military recruitment, after an extended dry spell. She said the shift was inspired by increase global defence threats.
