No one was seriously injured after a car crashed into the Otonabee River just north of Peterborough on Sunday. Around noon emergency crews responded around to the scene between 8th and 9th Lines in Douro-Dummer Township. Peterborough County OPP say the found the vehicle submerged in the water and that no one was in the vehicle. OPP say the registered owner of the vehicle was found safe at their residence along a person who was a passenger in the vehicle. The 18-year-old man was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with careless driving, failure to remain at the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.
