Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow has launched Toronto’s economic action plan to fight U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canada The “Love Local Shopping campaign” to promote Toronto goods and purchasing 17 firefighting pump trucks are some of the action plans detailed. She said U.S.-based suppliers will not be allowed to bid on city contracts and the city is also introducing an industrial property tax deferral program “to help businesses who need it most.”
