Tariff pause won’t shake Canada’s stance on U.S. alcohol imports
Description
March 7, 2025
Despite U.S. President Donald Trump pausing tariffs on Canadian products, provincial leaders are standing firm on restrictions against American alcohol. Ontario Premier Doug Ford stated, “It’s off the shelves. And it will stay off the shelves until these tariffs are gone.” While U.S. liquor producers push the White House to ease trade barriers, the move creates an opportunity for Canadian alcohol brands to expand their market. Kyle Benning reports.
