Israel confirmed on Thursday that it has killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Gaza. An Israeli security official said a militant killed in battle during Wednesday operations turned out to be Sinwar, after DNA tests were conducted on the body. Sinwar is considered to be a mastermind of the Oct. 7 attack in Israel, and was chosen as the head of Hamas.
