Rare Tsuchinshan Atlas comet spotted over Peterborough

If you missed last week Northern Lights display, there’s another celestial sighting in the area with a comet not seen since the Neanderthal times
The Peterborough Astronomical Association captured these images of comet Tschuchinshan Atlas — or Comet C-2023 – on Monday, Oct. 14.
It was not visible until after sunset in the western sky.
The celestial visitor was closest to the sun on September 27th but is expected to be visible until next week as it slowly moves out of our solar system.
The comet was last seen from Earth 80,000 years ago.
If you miss the comet, it’s another 80,000-year wait before it returns.
