In a statement, U.S. intel and law enforcement agencies said malicious Iranian malicious cyber actors sent unsolicited emails in late June and early July to individuals then associated with President Joe Biden’s campaign. It’s believed no attachments were opened and the Harris campaign says it’s fully cooperating. Intelligence officials in this case say Iran sees Trump as a ticket to increased escalation between Tehran and Washington and maybe trying to keep him from office. Global’s Reggie Cecchini has more.
