Hundreds of people in Vijayawada, a city in India’s southern state of Andhra Pradesh, were left stranded Monday when heavy rains triggered flash floods in the area. Meanwhile, as floodwaters recede elsewhere in India there are dire warnings about the potential spread of disease.
