B.C.’s officials are closely monitoring the landslide across the Chilcotin River 24/7, Minister of Emergency Management, Bowinn Ma, said at a Friday Aug. 2, 2024 press conference. Ma says the modelling currently shows the water will likely flow over the top of the dam, rather than burst through.
