This year marks the 50th anniversary of Annual Peacekeepers Day in Canada. It commemorates the loss of peacekeepers’ lives when a Buffalo aircraft was shot down over Syria on Aug. 9, 1974. This year’s service in Calgary is planned for Aug. 11 at Peacekeepers Park at Garrison Green.
