After years of a very public battle about policing in Surrey, it appears the city council is now getting on board and moving forward with the transition. At Monday night’s council meeting, Mayor Brenda Locke said while she continues to oppose getting rid of the RCMP — the city will actively participate in making the Surrey police service the “force of jurisdiction.” Andrea Macpherson reports.
