Speaking in Toronto on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland responded to a reporter’s question on whether the MPs implicated in foreign interference from a recent national security report would be excluded from the nomination process for the next federal elections. “The Minister of Public Safety has been at committee today and answered questions extensively on the report. Our government takes foreign interference very seriously and law enforcement is working hard on this issue as well,” Freeland said.
