TransAlta has cancelled a proposed wind farm in southern Alberta and put three other developments on hold

The company says provincial rule changes to renewable developments and uncertainty around broader electricity market reforms are the reasons behind the decision. As Carolyn Kury de Castillo reports, the reeve of Cardston County says the loss of the wind project will be a major blow to the county’s ability to pay for services for its residents.
